Description
What kind of wine it is
Colli di Luni Vermentino Costa Marina by Ottaviano Lambruschi is a still white Ligurian wine with Denomination of Controlled Origin, made from Vermentino grapes. In the glass, it displays a straw yellow colour with greenish highlights and releases delicate aromas of yellow flowers and fresh fruit. On the palate, the sip is dry and linear, supported by a marked savouriness that leads to a pleasant almondy finish, typical of hillside expressions. This is a wine of good structure, capable of evolving in the bottle for two or three years.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the Costa Marina vineyard, located on a Ligurian hillside at 220 metres above sea level with a south-east exposure. From this position, the sea is visible, allowing the bunches to benefit from the coastal breeze which enhances their aromatic definition. The rows of vines sink their roots into medium-textured soil, characterised by red earth rich in minerals and iron. This soil composition gives the wine a vibrant gustatory energy and a clear structural precision.
How it is produced
In the vineyard, the simple Guyot training system is used and the harvest takes place in the first ten days of September to preserve the balance between ripeness and freshness of the fruit. In the winery, the processes aim to maintain the clarity and consistency of the sensory profile over time through a careful stabilisation process. Served at 10–12 °C, this Vermentino is an ideal match for fish-based first courses and main courses of shellfish, and also successfully enhances dishes based on white meats.
History and Curiosities
An undisputed symbol of the Ottaviano Lambruschi winery, the Colli di Luni DOC Vermentino “Costa Marina” is one of the most historically representative wines of the estate. Its name pays homage to a picturesque Ligurian hill overlooking the sea, where the vineyards benefit from the constant sea breeze. Grown on red earth soils rich in iron and minerals, the pure grapes are harvested in the first ten days of September. This natural synergy gives rise to an elegant hillside white that encapsulates, in every glass, the true vocation of the land.

Supported by the invaluable enthusiasm of his brother Alessandro and endowed with remarkable professional skills, Ottaviano gradually succeeded in creating his first vineyard and producing his first wine — a bottling that already stood out as a symbol of excellence in the sector.
During the 1980s, Fabio, the founder’s son, earned a diploma in agricultural technology, giving him the opportunity to combine his innate passion with the most efficient production techniques. This allowed him to develop a modern and innovative winery that nevertheless preserved tradition, a precious heritage of the estate itself.
Over the years, the thriving Lambruschi enterprise expanded its holdings through the acquisition of vineyards located in the most prestigious areas of Ligurian viticulture. Meticulous care at every stage, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, together with rigorous grape selection, lends refinement and classic style to wines of the highest quality. Read more
