Description

What kind of wine is it

Nicolas Feuillatte Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is a Brut Champagne with an elegant profile, an authentic expression of Chardonnay. Crafted using the Traditional Method, it stands out for its fine perlage and creamy mousse. On the nose, it offers fresh aromas of citrus, acacia and jasmine, enriched by delicate hints of honey and cloves. On the palate, it reveals a distinct chalky minerality and a long finish, ideal for pairing with smoked salmon, oysters and mature cheeses.

Where does it come from

This cuvée originates in the Champagne region, from the Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte des Blancs. The grapes come from Chouilly, with contributions from Oger and Avize, areas renowned for Chardonnay. The typical chalky and marl soils impart the wine with its characteristic tension and freshness. This geological matrix ensures a precise aromatic definition and supports a remarkable ageing potential.

How is it produced

Production begins with manual harvesting to preserve the integrity of the bunches. The prise de mousse takes place using the Traditional Method, followed by a prolonged maturation of around eight years on the lees. Part of the wine matures in barrels, enriching the aromatic structure without overpowering the original freshness. The balanced Brut dosage completes the profile, delivering a harmonious, deep sip characterised by great palate cleanliness.

History and Curiosities

The Millésime 2015 by Nicolas Feuillatte originates from a warm and dry vintage, expertly interpreted through careful manual harvesting in the renowned Grand Cru vineyards of Chouilly, Oger and Avize. Crafted by oenologist David Henault, this exquisite Blanc de Blancs enhances the finesse of Chardonnay thanks to a meticulous eight-year maturation, completed by partial ageing in barrels. The harmony between modern techniques and traditional expertise gives rise to a work of great prestige, chosen by top international restaurants and the finest airlines.

It is a beautiful story, a story of men. That of Henri Macquart, pioneering founder of the Centre Vinicole de la Champagne. That of Nicolas Feuillatte, an audacious businessman. That of volunteer winegrowers who, together, dare and succeed in a gamble: to create a brand of excellence, the Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte.

Nicolas Feuillatte Champagnes draw their energy and refinement from a remarkable variety of crus sublimated by the delicate art of blending, reflecting the balance, finesse and freshness of this unique land. Our cuvées originate from a great variety of perfectly ripe grapes, vinified by cru or cru zone and by grape variety, as well as from a rigorous selection of Premiers and Grands Crus. The mosaic of various soils gives shape to these nuanced Champagnes.
