Description

What kind of wine is it

Moser Trento Riserva Tracce Extra Brut is a Traditional Method sparkling wine created to enhance the purity of Chardonnay. The Trento designation here reveals a technical profile, defined by a distinctly dry style. In the glass, it displays a bright golden yellow colour, enlivened by a fine perlage. On the nose, it offers elegant nuances of candied fruit and deep, mature notes, while the palate stands out for its creamy texture, well balanced by lively savouriness.

Where does it come from

Moser's vineyards stretch between Maso Warth and the slopes of the Cembra Valley, at an altitude between 350 and 650 metres. This cool climate encourages a pronounced aromatic precision. The pergola and Guyot training systems support the ripening of the Chardonnay, whose roots delve into calcareous soils in the valley and porphyritic soils at higher altitudes. This geological combination gives the wine remarkable savoury tension and a solid structure.

How is it produced

After a careful manual harvest of the Chardonnay, gentle whole-bunch pressing allows only the delicate free-run must to be extracted. Fermentation and resting take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the varietal freshness. Following the Traditional Method, the secondary fermentation in the bottle precedes a very long ageing on the lees for one hundred and thirty-two months. This slow maturation shapes the wine's character, refining the texture of the bubbles and enriching the palate with complex tertiary aromas.

History and Curiosities

Tracce is Moser's tribute to the excellence of Trento DOC Riserva. This extraordinary Metodo Classico Extra Brut is crafted from Chardonnay grapes hand-picked in the high-altitude vineyards between Maso Warth and the Cembra Valley. The 2011 vintage offers a rare sensation thanks to an exceptional 132 months of ageing on the lees, which gives the sip an unrivalled creaminess and an extremely fine perlage. Delicate aromas of candied fruit and captivating mature notes enrich a dry and distinctly savoury palate, for an unforgettable tasting experience.
