Description

What kind of wine it is

Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé, born from the collaboration between Chateau Miraval and the Perrin Family, embodies the essence of the renowned Côtes de Provence appellation. This blend harmonises the Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Rolle and Mourvèdre varieties, offering a vibrant aromatic profile. Visually, it displays a bright petal pink hue, introducing aromas of redcurrant, raspberry and strawberry, enriched by delicate citrus and herbal notes. On the palate, the dry and juicy sip leads to a distinctly savoury finish. Its natural freshness elegantly accompanies summer days, enhancing seafood starters, lean fish and fresh cheeses.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Correns, in the heart of Provence, where Chateau Miraval cultivates its vineyards at three hundred and fifty metres above sea level. The hillside location ensures an unusually cool microclimate for the region, characterised by significant temperature variations between day and night. These conditions allow the grapes to ripen precisely, preserving acidity and developing a defined and taut aromatic character. The Provençal terroir imparts a clear mineral component to the wine, reflecting a harmonious territorial identity with great expressive clarity.

How it is produced

Harvesting takes place at first light to preserve the fragrance of the bunches, followed by a rigorous manual selection. After destemming, Cinsault, Grenache and Rolle undergo direct pressing, while the Syrah is partly vinified using the saignée method. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures and, for a small portion, in barrels. Maturation continues in the same containers with regular bâtonnage on the fine lees, a practice that enriches the structure and lends roundness, ensuring a tasting experience of lasting elegance.

History and Curiosities

Originating from a historic castle in Correns, Provence, Chateau Miraval is the result of the renowned collaboration between Brad Pitt and the winemaking expertise of the Famille Perrin. This sought-after cult rosé is produced from vineyards situated at 350 metres above sea level, nestled in a cool microclimate characterised by significant temperature variations that bestow the wine with unparalleled elegance. The grapes, harvested in the morning, give rise to the 2024 vintage, awarded 90/100 by Robert Parker and perfect for festive occasions.

From this winery
Château Miraval is located in Correns, north of Brignoles in Provence and is housed in a castle whose origins date back to pre-Roman times. In medieval times the castle of Miraval was the seat of several monastic orders and later owned by members of the French royal family. In the 1970s, due to the beauty of the place and the surrounding nature, the Château Miraval was home to music recording studios: here, among others, Pink Floyd and Sting also worked. Since 2008 the Château has been owned by the American actor Brad Pitt, who uses the precious collaboration of Marc Perrin, one of the most famous winemakers of the Rhone Valley, to make his wines.
