Description
What kind of wine it is
A rigorous expression of the Traditional Method, Miniere F&R's Champagne Brut Zero is a non-dosage wine with a taut and precise style. It stands out for its golden yellow colour and a very fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet reveals elegant floral and yeasty notes, accompanied by toasted hints, aromas of undergrowth and yellow fruit. On the palate, the direct attack introduces a distinct saline savouriness that guides the harmonious sip towards a long citrusy finish.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Hermonville, in the Champagne region, from old vines over forty years old located in the parcels Les Couturelles, Les Fosselles and Les Fontenelles. The silty-clay-sandy soil rests on a base of lacustrine limestone which imparts a pronounced minerality. From this environment comes a balanced blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, capable of faithfully expressing the identity of the terroir and a marked gustatory tension.
How it is produced
Production involves the base wine fermenting and maturing in oak barrels for eight months in contact with the lees. To preserve a strict verticality, malolactic fermentation is not carried out. As required by the Traditional Method, the prise de mousse in bottle is followed by three years of ageing in the cellar, with disgorgement taking place at least six months before sale. Offered without any dosage, the wine retains the purity and exact character of its original composition.
History and Curiosities
Born in Hermonville from the passion of a historic family, Brut Zero Miniere F&R enhances the purest expression of Champagne. This fine Pas Dosé from old vines harmoniously combines Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown on chalky soils. The skilful vinification in oak barrels and three years of ageing, carried out without malolactic fermentation, shape its elegance and clear saline savouriness. Internationally multi-awarded, this dosage-free champagne offers an authentic and deeply harmonious sip.

The estate has grown extensively over the years.
After completing our winemaking studies and several years of professional experience, we took over the estate in 2005 and decided to produce our own wines in oak barrels so as to promote the values of our exceptional heritage.
With almost 8Ha of land, our vineyards are primarily located in Hermonville, whose magnificent, south-east facing hillsides are flooded with sunshine.
The upper hills are covered in sand-loam soil while the lower areas are loam, clay and sand. These well-draining soils contain high levels of minerals which force roots downwards to feed the vines deep within the soil and saturate the sap with mineral elements. Read more
