Description
What kind of wine it is
Meursault Les Tessons by Michel Bouzereau showcases Chardonnay in the Burgundy region. With its straw yellow hue, it reveals floral aromas and pronounced mineral notes. The palate is vibrant and balanced, supported by splendid freshness. Served at 12-14°C, it pairs perfectly with shellfish and lean fish, as well as white meats and cheeses. Praised by critics such as Decanter and Vinous, it boasts an ageing potential that ensures excellent evolution over time.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the Meursault area, in the renowned Les Tessons plot. The vineyard is home to old vines that provide concentrated yields with great depth. The wine's profile is shaped by clay-limestone soils, characterised by red earth and surface rock. This particular geology imparts a marked mineral energy and a solid structure to the palate, making it a true expression of the area's character.
How it is produced
The winemaking process aims to preserve the fruit's tension. Maturation takes place over a period of sixteen to eighteen months in barrels, some of which are new. This ageing allows for a slow structural evolution, perfectly integrating the contribution of the wood with the wine's natural liveliness. The result is a glass of absolute balance, combining aromatic complexity with rigorous precision on the palate.
History and Curiosities
Within the Meursault AOC, Michel Bouzereau’s precious Les Tessons plot covers just 0.5 hectares of old vines planted between 1958 and 1989. This exceptional Chardonnay is born from unique red clay-limestone soils and matures for between 16 and 18 months in barriques, resulting in a vibrant and balanced sip. The 2023 vintage enhances its innate prestige, confirmed by 95 points from Decanter, and reveals an ageing potential of up to 12 years. An elegant wine, capable of offering a splendid evolution in the bottle.

Jean-Baptiste, his son, joined him on the estate twenty years later: he learned the trade at his side for ten years and together they acquired some prestigious plots. In 1999, Michel left Jean-Baptiste to manage the family estate of 10.5 hectares with the same passion. In 2008, always anxious to improve the quality of the wines, he decided to build a new structure and, since the 2009 harvest, the entire estate is located at 5, rue Robert Thénard, still in the centre of the village of Meursault.
