Description
Type of wine
Madame Martis by Maso Martis is a sparkling wine produced using the Traditional Method that embodies the essence of the Trento territory. This organic Brut Riserva is created from a careful blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. In the glass, it is distinguished by a fine and persistent perlage, which precedes a complex aromatic profile, characterised by notes of pastries, exotic fruit, citrus and bread crust. On the palate, it expresses a creamy and balanced texture, enriched by a pleasant savouriness and a minerality that accompanies the sip towards a clean and long-lasting finish.
Provenance
The vineyards are located in Trentino-Alto Adige, on the slopes of Martignano, where Maso Martis adopts the principles of organic farming. The vineyards are managed with organic fertilisation and soil cultivation in alternate rows, using the Guyot and Trentino pergola training systems. The production philosophy aims for low yields to ensure healthy grapes with a distinct aromatic concentration. This agronomic care is fundamental to give the wine the ideal structure necessary to undergo the long evolution typical of Trento's excellence.
How it is produced
The process begins with the manual harvesting of the grapes, followed by a soft whole-bunch pressing. The grape varieties are vinified separately: the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier ferment in stainless steel, while the Chardonnay undergoes its first fermentation and ageing in barrels for approximately eight months. After the creation of the cuvée, the secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Traditional Method. The wine then rests for ageing on the lees for approximately nine years, acquiring extraordinary structural complexity. The journey concludes with riddling, disgorgement and a Brut dosage that preserves its freshness and rigorous character.
History and curiosities
The Maso Martis Madame Martis Brut Riserva Annata Rara 2016 is an organic gem, produced exclusively in the best vintages from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier grapes. This Metodo Classico sparkling wine is distinguished by its exceptional nine-year ageing on the lees. Its production is very limited, making this bottle a true rarity.

Ever since the beginning we dedicated our activity almost exclusively to the art of producing classic method sparkling wines: a real challenge to face at that time, as this type of product from Trentino still had not achieved the reputation of high quality as it has today with the brand TRENTODOC.
We live in a house located in the heart of our vineyards and therefore for us the transition to organic viticulture was the natural consequence of our way of life that focuses on life quality.
Maso Martis is situated in Martignano at the foothill of Mount Calisio (also called Argentario) above Trento, 450 m above sea level: a mountain terrain that was cultivated as early as the end of the 800, and is well exposed and caressed by the mountain breeze. Read more
