Description
What kind of wine it is
Maso Martis Trento Blanc de Blancs Brut is an organic sparkling wine produced using the Traditional Method, an authentic expression of Trento. It is created from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, crafted to enhance their individual characteristics. In the glass, it displays a fine and persistent perlage, which precedes clear aromas of white fruit, flowers, and fragrant hints of brioche. On the palate, it is dry, delicate, and pleasantly fresh, supported by a balanced structure that finishes with an elegant hint of yeast.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from estate vineyards in Martignano, a hillside location overlooking the city of Trento. The vines take root at the foot of Monte Calisio, in a highly renowned mountainous area of Trentino-Alto Adige. At an altitude of around 450 metres above sea level, the clusters benefit from favourable exposure and are constantly caressed by the mountain breeze, which moderates the climate and prevents extreme temperatures. This unique soil and climate context gives the grapes a solid acidic backbone, essential for ensuring the precision and freshness that distinguish the sparkling wines of this area.
How it is produced
The production process begins with a strictly manual harvest and gentle pressing of the bunches. The varieties follow separate paths: the Pinot Noir ferments in steel tanks, while the Chardonnay is vinified and fermented in barrels for about eight months. The base wines are then blended and refined in steel before spring bottling for the secondary fermentation required by the Traditional Method. The wine rests on the lees for about 24 months, defining its aromatic profile. Meticulous manual riddling and disgorgement complete the production of this wine, a true expression of certified organic cultivation.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1990 at the foot of Mount Calisio, Maso Martis cultivates its vineyards at an altitude of 450 metres, caressed by the mountain breeze. This Trentodoc Millesimato combines passion and certified organic farming, harmoniously blending Chardonnay aged in barriques and Pinot Noir vinified in steel. After a meticulous manual harvest, the fine cuvée rests for around 24 months on the lees. The careful manual remuage enhances the fragrant notes of brioche and the persistence of the perlage, resulting in a sparkling wine of excellence and absolute elegance.

Ever since the beginning we dedicated our activity almost exclusively to the art of producing classic method sparkling wines: a real challenge to face at that time, as this type of product from Trentino still had not achieved the reputation of high quality as it has today with the brand TRENTODOC.
We live in a house located in the heart of our vineyards and therefore for us the transition to organic viticulture was the natural consequence of our way of life that focuses on life quality.
Maso Martis is situated in Martignano at the foothill of Mount Calisio (also called Argentario) above Trento, 450 m above sea level: a mountain terrain that was cultivated as early as the end of the 800, and is well exposed and caressed by the mountain breeze. Read more
