Description
What kind of wine it is
Grandarella by Masi is a still red wine made from Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes. It stands out for its dark, impenetrable red colour. On the palate, it is a full-bodied wine, complex and well-balanced, with soft tannins and a velvety texture. The tasting reveals clear notes of blueberries, stewed plums and cherries in spirit, enriched by hints of vanilla, cinnamon and aromatic herbs. Thanks to its structured character, it is the ideal companion for grilled red meats, game and mature cheeses, and proves excellent even at the end of a meal.
Where it comes from
This red originates from the Delle Venezie area. The grapes come from the Tenute Stra’ del Milione estates, in the Grave, an area known for its breezy climate. This natural ventilation is essential for the slow drying of the bunches, a crucial phase for the development of the wine’s organoleptic profile. Production is expertly overseen by Masi, a historic brand that enhances the region’s natural vocation. The very name of the wine is a clear tribute to local viticulture, recalling the grapes carefully laid out on traditional arele during the drying process.
How it is produced
The winemaking process is based on the Appassimento technique, designed to give the wine great intensity and concentration. Harvesting takes place slightly later than usual, allowing the bunches to rest on racks before fermentation to concentrate aromas and structure. Each grape component is processed separately, ensuring the utmost respect for the characteristics of the harvest. The different lots are then combined in a harmonious blend, creating a complex wine in which the fruity character is balanced by a structured and refined sip. The careful production approach results in an elegant glass, fully compatible with a vegan diet.
