Description
What kind of wine it is
Marina Cvetic Chardonnay by Masciarelli is a structured white, an excellent expression of the Colline Teatine. The glass, with its brilliant golden colour, enhances the Chardonnay by offering a complex bouquet with aromas of loquat, broom, ginger and brioche. On the palate, the velvety structure merges with a distinct, persistent savoury finish. Pleasant notes of toasted hazelnut outline an aromatic complexity ideal for ageing over time.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Abruzzo, between the towns of San Martino sulla Marrucina and Bucchianico. The vineyards are located on hillsides facing south-east, at altitudes between 250 and 400 metres. The vines sink their roots into clay-limestone and sandy soils, which are essential for giving volume and breadth to the sip. The proximity to woods and the presence of natural water springs ensure significant environmental biodiversity, creating a balanced microclimate that results in a distinct territorial character.
How it is produced
The harvest takes place during the first half of September. The process begins with a cryo-maceration in the press for twelve hours to preserve the intensity of the grape's primary aromas. Fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels, where the wine remains for about a year in contact with its own lees. Frequent bâtonnage enriches the body, making it enveloping and creamy. The process concludes with appropriate bottle ageing, which consolidates its extractive richness.
