Description
What kind of wine it is
Marengo Barolo expresses the authentic character of the Barolo denomination through Nebbiolo grapes. It appears a pale ruby red to the eye, while the aromatic profile reveals a bouquet characterised by notes of cinchona and candied orange peel, intertwined with hints of baked olives, bitter cocoa, fern and eucalyptus. On the palate, it offers a dense and profound sip, delivering a balanced finish between richness and savouriness.
Where it comes from
This red wine is born in Piedmont, rooted in the territories of La Morra and along the hills of Castagnole Monferrato. The Marengo winery, founded at the end of the nineteenth century, tends its rows with meticulous vineyard work. The production maintains a deep connection with its area of origin, offering a faithful expression of the Piedmontese terroir capable of ensuring remarkable longevity.
How it is produced
The vinification involves a careful maturation period, with two years of ageing in barrels. To best appreciate its aromatic finesse, it is recommended to decant for one hour at a serving temperature between eighteen and twenty degrees. At the table, it creates an excellent gastronomic synergy with intense dishes, enhancing tajarin with truffle, veal with mushrooms and game.
