Description
What kind of wine it is
Man Trento Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature is a Traditional Method sparkling wine that embodies the essence of the Trento region. Produced by Man Spumanti, showcasing pure Chardonnay, it stands out for its strict pas dosé style. In the glass, it displays a brilliant straw yellow colour, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it offers an intense bouquet, with hints of white-fleshed fruit and floral notes. The palate is marked by a deep mineral tension that makes the drink dynamic, while the finish, clean and elegant, recalls nuances of dried fruit and brioche.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine originates in the mountainous landscape of the Cembra Valley. The terraced vineyards climb the slopes of Monte Corona, in Giovo, bearing witness to true heroic viticulture. Situated at around six hundred metres above sea level with a western exposure, the vines sink their roots into steep slopes supported by historic dry-stone walls. The valley's morphology, shaped by ancient glaciers and river erosion, creates a unique microclimate. However, it is the calcareous-dolomitic soils that define the wine's identity, imparting that vibrant freshness which supports the entire gustatory structure.
How it is produced
Production begins in September with the manual harvesting of the grapes and gentle pressing to extract only the free-run must. Fermentation and the initial maturation take place mainly in steel, while a small portion of the wine rests in barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation. The prise de mousse strictly follows the principles of the Traditional Method, with slow ageing on the lees in underground cellars for over forty-two months. At disgorgement, the total absence of dosage preserves the authentic mountain character, delivering a dry, vertical and highly expressive sip.
