Description

What kind of wine it is

Lungarotti Aurente Chardonnay di Torgiano is an enveloping still white wine, created from a blend of Chardonnay and Grechetto. Produced by the Lungarotti winery, it displays an elegant profile with a pronounced structure and refined softness. On the nose, it releases aromas of tropical fruit, banana and sage, combined with subtle hints of oak. The palate is marked by vibrant acidity and a persistent fruity finish.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the Torgiano area in Umbria. The vineyards are located on the slopes of Brufa, characterised by sandy soils lying on deep limestone layers, ideal for enhancing acidic tension. The agronomic management involves limited yields, ensuring high fruit quality. The area reflects the vision of Giorgio Lungarotti, a historic promoter of the Umbrian terroir.

How it is produced

After the manual harvest, the grapes undergo gentle pressing and a brief cryomaceration. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels at a controlled temperature, excluding malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness. Ageing continues on fine lees with bâtonnage, followed by a period in stainless steel. Maturation concludes with a careful final rest.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 1962, Giorgio Lungarotti's company has elevated the prestige of Umbrian winemaking by enhancing the value of Torgiano DOC. The name of this wine means “gold”, a clear tribute to its splendid golden hues. Produced in a limited edition of only 15,000 bottles, this label combines the elegance of Chardonnay with the authentic soul of Grechetto. The excellence of Aurente is demonstrated by prestigious oenological awards that celebrate a family passion capable of winning over the most discerning palates.
