Description

What kind of wine it is

The Barbaresco Bric Micca from Poderi Luigi Einaudi is a refined red wine made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, an authentic expression of the Piedmontese terroir. In the glass, it displays a garnet red hue, enriched by bright orange reflections that hint at its depth. The bouquet is ethereal, intense and pleasant, capable of evolving beautifully over time. On the palate, this Barbaresco offers a dry and full sip, characterised by a delicate texture and a velvety flavour. The tannins are well balanced and perfectly integrated, giving the structure remarkable overall harmony.

Where it comes from

This renowned red originates in the municipality of Neive, in the province of Cuneo, from a single, highly regarded plot of just over one and a half hectares. The vines grow at an altitude between 300 and 350 metres above sea level, benefiting from a south and south-west exposure that ensures excellent sunlight. The plants, trained using the Guyot system, sink their roots into a sandy and calcareous soil, which is essential for imparting the characteristic tannic finesse to the wine's structure. The limited production is a testament to the extreme care that Poderi Luigi Einaudi, a winery founded in 1897, dedicates to enhancing this specific territory.

How it is produced

The vinification process begins with a fermentation of about thirty days, during which constant temperature control preserves the utmost aromatic precision and cleanliness of the must. Afterwards, the wine undergoes a long maturation in barrels, a crucial phase that allows it to consolidate its flavour architecture and soften the tannic texture. This is followed by ageing before release. Thanks to this meticulous production process, the wine develops a remarkable ageing potential, proving capable of evolving and refining even after more than fifteen years of cellaring in the best vintages.
