Description

What kind of wine it is

Valbuins Sauvignon Blanc by Livon is a Friulian white, a pure expression of Collio. Made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, it displays an intense aromatic profile, laced with minerality and supported by a pronounced refreshing acidity. The bouquet ranges from citrus fruits, green apple and passion fruit, with varietal hints of green pepper and tomato leaf, and nuances of white peach. The palate offers a harmonious structure, deep, savoury and with elegant persistence.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the vineyards of Valbuins and Ruttars, located in Dolegna del Collio. Here, the vines grow on marl and sandstone soils, a composition that imparts mineral sensations and a clear savoury texture to the glass. The rows are trained using the Guyot system, with manual harvesting to preserve the integrity of the bunches. All processing stages take place entirely in the Collio area, strengthening the territorial bond and ensuring a faithful expression of its place of origin.

How it is produced

The grapes undergo a cold maceration in the press, followed by clarification. Fermentation is divided between stainless steel and French oak barrels, integrating varietal freshness with a measured contribution from the wood. At the end of maturation, the final blend is composed. Thus, a white wine of substance is created, in which the fruity profile and balsamic notes converge in an elegant finish with great aromatic persistence.

History and Curiosities

The Livon Valbuins Sauvignon Blanc is a masterful expression of the Collio DOC, born in the prized Friulian vineyards of Ruttars and Dolegna. A fairly recent history, but that certainly has brought out his protagonist: Dorino Livon, until it is one of the most established and best known wine producers of Friuli. A story, however, that has its origins in a passion and a family tradition: the love for their land, Friuli, in particular the extreme edge of which is the last bulwark of Italy to Europe Eastern: The eastern hills of Friuli and Collio. In 1964 he bought his first Dorino Livon hills of Collio and that, little by little, it adds others. It grows well year after year, the Farm Livon. At the same time develops the project to build its own winery and fully equipped with the most advanced technology. It dates from the early eighties, even following the entry in the company of two sons of Dorino Valneo and Tonino, the decision to diversify the production of wines that, while maintaining high quality, could develop two different strategic concepts. The Cru wines with limited production, made from vines with working is particularly suited to an agricultural and wine very classic wines selected to flourish in an important way, even as the quantity, in the mid / high range products. The principles underlying the organization and production results are obtained by reducing the amount per hectare, pruning shorter, the thickening of existing vineyards, planting new vineyards with a high number of plants per hectare and the creation of two wineries distinct. The cellar of "Masarotte" was used as a center of wine production throughout the production line Cru and aging in oak barrels of the same line of white wines, the cellar of "Vence", for the maturation in oak barrels, which is in barrels, of all red wines. The decade that follows is therefore characterized by the consolidation of what has been previously set and the assertion of Valneo and Tonino as natural recipients of the paternal inheritance. The Company's next strategic turning point occurs during the five years between 1992 to 1997 when, realizing that in order to remain competitive in a market whose scenarios were rapidly changing, Livon decide to purchase three farms, two of these, and Tenuta Villa Chiopris Roncalto were located in the Friuli region, while the farm is located Salcetino village in Tuscany in the Chianti Classico area. In 2001 the family Livon full range of production with the purchase of the Farm By saint, located in the municipality of Bevagna (PG) in the DOCG zone Montefalco. In 2008, after a long period of restructuring, the ancient Villa Inn Chiopris, regains its former glory. Customers offers B & B, events and tastings, with relaxing moments surrounded by vineyards and a park where the edge of a swimming pool you can breathe a charming scent of lavender. A global company, therefore, highly diversified across five different brands, with over 200 hectares of vineyards: Livonia, Roncalto Estate and Villa Chiopris (Friuli) Salcetino Village, (Tuscany) Farm With holy (Umbria) with products to cover with their positioning, different market segments.
