Description

What kind of wine it is

Braide Alte Bianco is a still wine by Livon, produced in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. This Venezia Giulia is created from an elegant blend of Moscato Giallo, Chardonnay, Picolit and Sauvignon. In the glass, it appears straw yellow with bright golden highlights. The bouquet is finely spiced, enriched with hints of acacia flowers, citrus fruits and apricot. On the palate, it displays a great structure, balanced by a pronounced minerality and persistent acidity, leading to a creamy finish.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the historic Cru Braide Alte, located in Dolegna del Collio in the Ruttars area. The vineyards grow on soils composed of clay and marl, essential for imparting the typical savoury character. The vines are trained using Guyot and spurred cordon methods, with a density designed to enhance aromatic concentration. Thanks to an ideal microclimate, the plants yield rich fruit, defining a precise style focused on the elegance of the sip.

How it is produced

The process begins with manual harvesting, followed by cold maceration in a horizontal press for eight hours. The must, clarified by decantation, starts fermentation at a controlled temperature in Allier oak barrels. The wine then matures in wood for eight months without racking, enhancing the roundness of the palate. After the delicate blending phase, a long final ageing completes the aromatic and flavour evolution of the product.

History and Curiosities

Originating from the exclusive Ruttars Cru, this prestigious Venezia Giulia IGT represents the pinnacle of the family-run Livon winery, founded in 1964. Counted among the six company Grand Crus, it is born from meticulous manual harvesting and matures for eight months in Allier barriques without any racking. This careful artisanal process forges its pronounced minerality and elegant aromatic embrace: a white wine of extraordinary refinement, consecrated in the wine Olympus by prestigious awards such as the Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso.

A fairly recent history, but that certainly has brought out his protagonist: Dorino Livon, until it is one of the most established and best known wine producers of Friuli. A story, however, that has its origins in a passion and a family tradition: the love for their land, Friuli, in particular the extreme edge of which is the last bulwark of Italy to Europe Eastern: The eastern hills of Friuli and Collio. In 1964 he bought his first Dorino Livon hills of Collio and that, little by little, it adds others. It grows well year after year, the Farm Livon. At the same time develops the project to build its own winery and fully equipped with the most advanced technology. It dates from the early eighties, even following the entry in the company of two sons of Dorino Valneo and Tonino, the decision to diversify the production of wines that, while maintaining high quality, could develop two different strategic concepts. The Cru wines with limited production, made from vines with working is particularly suited to an agricultural and wine very classic wines selected to flourish in an important way, even as the quantity, in the mid / high range products. The principles underlying the organization and production results are obtained by reducing the amount per hectare, pruning shorter, the thickening of existing vineyards, planting new vineyards with a high number of plants per hectare and the creation of two wineries distinct. The cellar of "Masarotte" was used as a center of wine production throughout the production line Cru and aging in oak barrels of the same line of white wines, the cellar of "Vence", for the maturation in oak barrels, which is in barrels, of all red wines. The decade that follows is therefore characterized by the consolidation of what has been previously set and the assertion of Valneo and Tonino as natural recipients of the paternal inheritance. The Company's next strategic turning point occurs during the five years between 1992 to 1997 when, realizing that in order to remain competitive in a market whose scenarios were rapidly changing, Livon decide to purchase three farms, two of these, and Tenuta Villa Chiopris Roncalto were located in the Friuli region, while the farm is located Salcetino village in Tuscany in the Chianti Classico area. In 2001 the family Livon full range of production with the purchase of the Farm By saint, located in the municipality of Bevagna (PG) in the DOCG zone Montefalco. In 2008, after a long period of restructuring, the ancient Villa Inn Chiopris, regains its former glory. Customers offers B & B, events and tastings, with relaxing moments surrounded by vineyards and a park where the edge of a swimming pool you can breathe a charming scent of lavender. A global company, therefore, highly diversified across five different brands, with over 200 hectares of vineyards: Livonia, Roncalto Estate and Villa Chiopris (Friuli) Salcetino Village, (Tuscany) Farm With holy (Umbria) with products to cover with their positioning, different market segments.
