Description
Braide Alte is a still white wine made from the Cru of the same name located in the Dolegna del Collio countryside in the Ruttars area. It is an IGT wine product, or Typical Geographical Indication, of a very important wine-growing area of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The vines planted on soil composed of clay and marl are trained using the Guyot and spurred cordon systems and enjoy an ideal microclimate for the production of grapes of the highest quality. Braida Alte is one of six Gran Cru produced by the Livon winery. Made from a blend of Moscato Giallo, Chardonnay, Picolit, and Sauvignon Blanc, it presents itself as an intense wine with a unique character, a true winemaking gem, a wine product much loved by industry critics, a white wine that has won several awards. The grapes, harvested exclusively by hand in crates, are cold-macerated in a horizontal press. The maturation process lasts 8 hours, after which the must is decanted, or cleaned. This is followed by the fermentation process, during which the must ferments at a controlled temperature ranging from 14°C to 16°C. The process takes place in Allier barriques. Subsequently, the product does not undergo any racking, but remains to mature in barriques for a period of 8 months at a constant temperature, then it is blended and bottled. Once in the bottle, before being released on the market, the wine undergoes a further rather lengthy aging period. The result is an exceptional white wine, smooth, fragrant, and refined.
