Description
What kind of wine it is
Lanson 1760 Champagne Le Black Reserve Brut is a rigorous expression born from a balanced blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Crafted according to the principles of the Traditional Method, this Champagne stands out visually for its golden yellow colour and fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, clear aromas of pear and strawberry emerge, skilfully intertwined with notes of biscuit, almond and honey. The palate is dry, structured and enveloping, balanced by an extremely fresh mineral finish. It pairs perfectly with oysters and sushi, and also enhances dishes based on duck or mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
It originates in the renowned Champagne region, bearing the unmistakable signature of Lanson. The wine's complexity derives from a meticulous selection of grapes harvested from over one hundred crus, with a clear predominance of prestigious Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites. The blend develops a pronounced citrus tension, delivering the authentic agronomic richness of the region in the glass. The chalky soil also imparts a vibrant mineral texture, supporting the intense fruit expression and ensuring its vigour over time.
How it is produced
Vinification excludes malolactic fermentation to preserve the primary freshness of the must. The sensory profile is then enriched by the addition of reserve wines that mature patiently in large oak casks for almost twenty years, imparting remarkable depth to the style. The subsequent prise de mousse, strictly carried out through a second fermentation as required by the Traditional Method, precedes a sixty-month maturation on the lees in the Maison's cellars. This long rest amplifies the elegant nuances of sweet spices and marzipan, resulting in a complex, full-bodied wine with extraordinary longevity.
