Description
What kind of wine is it
La Forchetiere Sauvignon Blanc is a still white wine produced in the Loire Valley. In the glass, it appears a pale yellow colour, brightened by elegant green highlights. The bouquet opens with clear floral and mineral notes, accompanied by lively hints of freshly cut grass, gooseberry and white-fleshed fruit. On the palate, it offers a dry, fresh and juicy sip, characterised by pleasant drinkability. The dry finish makes it ideal as an aperitif or to enhance seafood dishes, oysters and goat's cheeses.
Where does it come from
This wine is produced in France, in the area of the Val de Loire, an authentic expression of its original terroir. La Forchetiere cultivates the grapes on a fifty-hectare estate located in Vendée, overlooking the Boulogne Valley. The Sauvignon Blanc vines, with an average age of about thirty-five years, are spread between the districts of Melon and Folle Blanche. The clay and schist soils nourish the plants and give the wine its natural gustatory tension, enriching it with a vibrant refreshing texture.
How is it produced
The winemaking process aims to preserve the purity and aromatic liveliness of the fruit. The bunches undergo a direct pressing to delicately extract the free-run juice. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks, an essential step to maintain the varietal fragrance intact. Afterwards, the wine matures through ageing on fine lees, a practice that gives greater definition and persistence on the palate, perfectly supporting the natural and refreshing acidic drive.
