Description

What type of wine it is

The Hochkofler Riesling from Kellerei Bozen is a South Tyrolean white wine aged in steel, expressing a dry and mineral character of marked elegance. In the glass, it presents a bright greenish-yellow colour and reveals an enveloping fruity profile, where peach, apricot, pear and grapefruit blend with floral nuances and a subtle ethereal note. On the palate, it is lively and precise, with an acidity that streamlines its drinkability, making it ideal for pairing with goat’s cheeses and delicate fish dishes.

Where it comes from

This white wine has its roots in the territories of South Tyrol, originating from vineyards located on the slopes around Bolzano and in the Isarco Valley. The vines grow at an altitude of about five hundred metres, a condition that favours the development of a taut and linear profile. Introduced to this region in the nineteenth century, Riesling is interpreted here by enhancing a dry and mountain style. The altitude provides great cleanliness on the palate and remarkable aromatic finesse.

How it is produced

The grapes are carefully selected between the beginning and middle of October. The production process begins with soft pressing, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation to preserve the varietal aromatic expression. Maturation takes place solely in stainless steel tanks, safeguarding the innate freshness of the grapes. The result is a wine of great clarity, supported by low residual sugar and an acidity that gives constant vitality to each sip.

History and interesting facts

Introduced to South Tyrol in the 19th century, this grape variety is now one of the jewels among the local white wines. The Riesling Hochkofler 2025 from Kellerei Bozen expresses a dry and elegant profile, staying true to the region's character, also thanks to its low residual sugar content.

A winery of the highest quality standards, strong of a history that has its roots in 1908 and a particularly motivated entourage, supported by well three hundred and fifty hectares of vineyards, between 250 and 700 meters above sea level, where a long series of varieties thrive.

The high mineral content of the soils and old vines that have achieved an optimum growth balance, worked by limiting yields per vine, are the prerequisites that guarantee to the company wines their proverbial goodness and measure, but also longevity for those who will be able to wait for them. time in their own cellar.

The Cabernet Mumelter Reserve 2016 offers the most intense emotions, but the Lagrein Taber Reserve 2016 puts it close up.
