Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne JM Seleque Solessence Rosé Extra Brut enhances the harmony between Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. Produced according to the principles of the Traditional Method, it stands out for its antique pink colour and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it opens with aromas of pomegranate and wild strawberry, evolving towards hints of yeast, bread crust and pastry. On the palate, it offers good body, defined by a vibrant freshness that ensures remarkable persistence. This profile makes it ideal paired with flavourful starters and sushi, fish, shellfish and soft cheeses.
Where it comes from
This rosé originates in the renowned Champagne region, embracing renowned villages including Pierry, Moussy, Épernay and Vertus. The vines grow on mainly clay soils, enriched with veins of flint and limestone. In the subsoil, Campanian chalk at varying depths gives the wine a distinctive mineral freshness. The interaction between these microclimates and the specific soil compositions defines the terroir, ensuring a decisive and vibrant structure that supports the elegant aromatic profile of the grapes grown in the region.
How it is produced
The production process is based on a meticulous blend of base wines enriched by a perpetual reserve, matured in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. Maturation lasts ten months and includes skin maceration for the Pinot Meunier and the integration of Pinot Noir vinified as a red wine. The prise de mousse takes place using the Traditional Method, followed by two years of ageing on the lees in the bottle. This sparkling wine undergoes no filtration or clarification, and is finished with an Extra Brut dosage that seals its dry, clean finish.
History and Curiosities
This enchanting Champagne is born from a refined blend that includes a precious perpetual reserve at 40%, expertly matured between steel vats and oak barrels. Its distinctive identity is the result of meticulous maceration on the Meunier skins and the addition of a fine Pinot Noir vinified as a red wine from the Pierry cru. The base matures for ten months before ageing for a further two years on the lees, giving rise to a Traditional Method Champagne that is strictly unfiltered and unfined, capable of expressing a decisive and vibrant structure.

Quickly passionate about vines, Richard, son of Henri and Françoise, studied oenology and began producing Champagne when he joined the winery in 1974.
He brought modern equipment for vine cultivation and winemaking: a digger tractor, a new press, vats, etc. As a result, the estate grew rapidly, and in the 1990s, production reached 50,000 bottles.
1995 will remain in the company's memories as the year Henri passed away. The 'Comédie' blend was created to honour him with his portrait on the metal cap. Françoise - the late Henri's wife - passed away in 2011.
The third generation arrived in 2008 - Jean-Marc joined the estate after studying wine and travelling abroad. He brought new life and a very personal approach to the creation of Champagne. Read more
