Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Solessence Nature Élevage Prolongé Brut Nature by JM Sélèque is a Traditional Method wine made from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes. It is characterised by a pale yellow colour with greenish highlights and is enlivened by a dense and intense perlage. On the nose, it reveals notes of yellow peach, white flowers, honey and a pleasant, widespread spiciness. The absence of dosage gives a dry and harmonious palate, supported by a lively mineral imprint that ensures freshness and promising longevity.
Where it comes from
This Champagne is produced in Pierry, France, from grapes harvested in selected parcels among Moussy, Épernay, Mardeuil, Dizy, Boursault and Vertus. The vineyards grow on friable clay, flint and limestone soils, resting on a deep subsoil of Campanian chalk. This specific pedological context imparts a distinct mineral perception to the wine, shaping a dry and clean sip. The interaction between the different terroirs guarantees an ideal balance between tension and freshness.
How it is produced
The blend ferments in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, making use of a complex perpetual reserve. The production process is notable for the absence of fining and zero filtration. The prise de mousse, typical of the Traditional Method, requires a prolonged maturation on the lees of about five years. The final choice of the Pas Dosé version outlines an elegant and pure profile, ideal for enhancing shellfish, sushi, fried seafood and cheeses.
History and Curiosities
The Solessence Nature Élevage Prolongé by JM Sélèque is a true tribute to the tradition of Champagne. Made from Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes grown on clay and chalk soils, this elegant pas dosé is enriched by a fine perpetual reserve. The five-year ageing on the lees and the absence of filtration enhance its lively mineral character and its dense, intense perlage. Praised by critics, it offers a fresh and exquisitely dry sip, excellent for enhancing shellfish and raw seafood.

Quickly passionate about vines, Richard, son of Henri and Françoise, studied oenology and began producing Champagne when he joined the winery in 1974.
He brought modern equipment for vine cultivation and winemaking: a digger tractor, a new press, vats, etc. As a result, the estate grew rapidly, and in the 1990s, production reached 50,000 bottles.
1995 will remain in the company's memories as the year Henri passed away. The 'Comédie' blend was created to honour him with his portrait on the metal cap. Françoise - the late Henri's wife - passed away in 2011.
The third generation arrived in 2008 - Jean-Marc joined the estate after studying wine and travelling abroad. He brought new life and a very personal approach to the creation of Champagne. Read more
