Description
What kind of wine it is
Jermann Pinot Grigio is a still white wine that best expresses the essence of Friuli. To the eye, it displays an intense straw yellow colour with a slight hint of antique pink. The bouquet offers a broad and fruity aroma, with excellent persistence. On the palate, it is dry, smooth and harmonious, supported by a full-bodied structure. Served chilled, it elegantly accompanies fish soups, shellfish, cheeses and refined dishes based on porcini mushrooms.
Where it comes from
The Pinot Grigio grapes are grown in the area of Villanova di Farra, in the Gorizia region. The vineyards take root in soils of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin, which form the typical rocky substrate known as ponca. The south-west and north-east exposure of the rows encourages gradual ripening, ensuring a balanced style in which natural freshness interacts with a significant flavour profile, reflecting the unique characteristics of the local landscape.
How it is produced
Made from Pinot Grigio grapes, the wine is crafted with precision to extract and preserve the delicate aromas of the variety. Careful vinification delivers a complex sensory profile, characterised by a clear fresh component. The balanced acidity combines with a smooth and full structure, leading the tasting towards a dry and persistent finish, which confirms the authentic expressiveness of this label in the glass.
History and Curiosities
The result of an excellent family history dating back to 1881, this Pinot Grigio reflects the deep dedication of the Jermann winery. The grapes, carefully cultivated in Villanova di Farra, take root in the renowned ponca soil, composed of Eocene marl and sandstone, which gives the wine a soft and vibrant harmony. Awarded 91 points by James Suckling, this white captures the authentic essence of Friuli Venezia Giulia in every glass.
