Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Grand Cru Reserve Cuvée Extra Brut Jacques Rousseaux is a wine of great precision. Crafted using the Traditional Method, it is born from a meticulous blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, enriched by the addition of reserve wines. It displays a straw yellow colour and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals delicate floral aromas, citrus notes and hints of yeast. On the palate, it is distinctly dry, supported by vibrant freshness and a structured body that delivers a long-lasting finish.
Where it comes from
This cuvée originates in Verzenay, a renowned Grand Cru in the Champagne region. Produced by Jacques Rousseaux, a historic name in the area, this sparkling wine is the result of viticulture managed according to organic and sustainable principles. The wine is a pure expression of the terroir and its structure ensures excellent ageing potential, allowing it to evolve in the cellar for several years and refine its aromatic clarity.
How it is produced
The production process follows the Traditional Method, with the integration of reserve wines to maintain a well-defined stylistic identity. The Extra Brut dosage enhances its clean and vertical character. At the table, Champagne Jacques Rousseaux demonstrates great versatility: perfect with shellfish and fish-based dishes, thanks to its fresh and persistent texture it also pairs ideally with mature cheeses such as Parmigiano. The recommended serving temperature is between 6 and 8 °C.

In Champagne the numerous vine growers cultivated their vines throughout the year and sold their harvest to the trade houses. Paul Rousseaux, born in 1884, followed a project shared with numerous other vine growers: produce his own champagne and market it himself (in 1999 we tasted the contents of one of these bottles, the wine was still fresh, with the color of old gold).
Paul had two children, Pierre and Michel. Pierre married Charlotte Degouy and they continued to cultivate the vineyards and to make their champagne, despite the conflicts that devastated Europe and our region during this period. They had four children: Jacques, Anne-Marie, Luc and Dominique. And today... Jacques, the eldest son, continues to cultivate the vineyards of the family, who trust in him. With his wife, Bernadette, they have developed their market during 30 years. Since January 2001 Céline and Eric, two of their three children, welcome you at the house of Jacques Rousseaux at Verzenay. Read more
