Description
What kind of wine it is
Freccianera Franciacorta Brut Nature by Berlucchi is a rigorous Traditional Method sparkling wine that elegantly blends Chardonnay with the vigour of Pinot Noir. With no dosage, it appears in the glass as a bright straw yellow, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it offers fragrant yeast aromas, fruity notes and subtle spices. On the palate, it stands out for its mineral freshness, resulting in a dry, linear and harmonious taste. Its clean flavour profile makes it ideal for pairing with fish dishes, oysters and cheese selections.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine originates from the hills of Franciacorta in Lombardy, a region characterised by a subalpine climate with Mediterranean influences. The vineyards benefit from the mild influence of Lake Iseo, which ensures proper temperature regulation during winter. In summer, the cool mountain breezes from the Upper Camonica Valley provide constant ventilation for the grapes. These climatic conditions allow the grapes to ripen evenly, developing intense aromas and the ideal taste tension to create precise and dry sparkling wine bases.
How it is produced
Vinification follows the Traditional Method, beginning with the preparation of the base wine. After bottling, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, followed by a prolonged ageing on the lees. This resting period is essential to impart complexity to the palate and refine the perlage. Disgorgement is carried out at zero dosage, with no added sugars, to enhance the authentic character of the grapes and ensure a clean, dynamic and long-lasting taste experience.
History and Curiosities
The Freccianera Franciacorta Brut Nature 2021 embodies the essence of the Fratelli Berlucchi estate, whose roots date back to 1977. The prestigious line of vintage wines was conceived to celebrate the winery’s thirtieth anniversary, masterfully enhancing each individual year. The decision to produce a Classic Method without dosage reflects a strong territorial identity: the absence of added sugars allows the most authentic soul of the grape varieties to be revealed. An excellent blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this wine offers the palate refined vertical elegance and remarkable complexity.

From the love between Francesco and Giustina, Ignazio, the first-born son, and Antonio Berlucchi, the second-born son, were born. On the death of his father Francesco, the eldest son Ignazio inherited the historical palace of the Lana-Berlucchi family, while the second-born Antonio inherited the Casa delle Colonne and a set of agricultural plots particularly suited to the cultivation of vines. Antonio founded the farm in 1927, which he then left to his five children, siblings Francesco, Gabriella, Marcello, Roberto and Pia Donata Berlucchi.
In 1977, the siblings began to produce Franciacorta, initiating the historic and current collaboration with oenologist Cesare Ferrari; on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of production, the Freccianera millesimati line was born: Millesimo 2007, a limited series of 3,000 bottles destined to be released on the market after 6 years of ageing on the lees.
The arrow shot from the medieval past that the family's palaces and vineyards recount, arrives today, with the unchanged black colour, from the first label of 1977. Read more
