Description
What kind of wine it is
Kikè is a still white wine from Fina, an expression of the Terre Siciliane region. This original blend of Traminer Aromatico and Sauvignon Blanc grapes reveals a dry, fresh and pleasantly savoury flavour profile. On the palate, it presents a full and intense structure, supported by a bouquet reminiscent of floral notes, candied fruit and hints of spices. The long-lasting taste and aroma make it ideal to pair with starters, vegetarian dishes and fragrant seafood courses.
Where it comes from
The grapes grow in the evocative western Sicily, an area characterised by varied soil and climate conditions. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level, a key factor in ensuring freshness and natural acidity. The vines are trained using the Guyot system, maintaining a density of 5,500 plants per hectare. Strict agronomic management ensures a yield of 60 quintals per hectare, promoting excellent aromatic concentration.
How it is produced
The production process begins in August with the harvest of Traminer Aromatico and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. In the winery, fermentation takes place in stainless steel, a technique chosen to enhance the purity of the aromas and the intrinsic freshness of the fruit. The wine then matures in the same containers to consolidate its character. A six-month ageing period defines the wine’s complex harmony and structure, without the need for any wood ageing.
History and Curiosities
Born from the passion of the Fina family in western Sicily, Kikè is the result of a harmonious blend between Traminer Aromatico and Sauvignon Blanc. Carefully crafted since 2005, the wine is matured in steel to enhance an intense bouquet of spices and candied fruit.
