Description
What kind of wine it is
Fina Syrah is an organic red wine that authentically expresses the character of Syrah grapes. The bouquet is intense, dominated by aromas of blackberry and violet flowers, enhanced by a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it is robust and enveloping, with freshness balanced by medium-intensity tannins. Its structure makes it ideal for pairing with roast red meats, game such as venison and wild boar, and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This red originates in Western Sicily, in the Marsala area, where Fina's vineyards are located at around 350 metres above sea level. Production takes place in the Terre Siciliane denomination area, a terroir capable of enhancing the spicy component of the grape variety. The vines are grown using the espalier system with Guyot pruning, with a limited yield that ensures bunches with great aromatic concentration.
How it is produced
The traditional red vinification begins with the harvest at the end of August. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to protect the primary aromas, while maturation involves a period in steel followed by 12 months in barrels, essential for adding depth to the sensory profile. After bottle ageing, the wine boasts excellent ageing potential, to be served at 14-16 °C after one hour of decanting.
History and Curiosities
