Description

What type of wine it is

Perlé Bianco Riserva by Ferrari is a Metodo Classico sparkling wine that expresses the soul of the Trentodoc appellation. Produced with Chardonnay grapes, it reveals a fine and persistent perlage that anticipates a complex and deep structure. The aromatic bouquet ranges between notes of lime and white flowers, enriched by nuances of gingerbread and a subtle marine trail. On the palate, the creamy texture meets a brilliant mineral energy, closing with a dry finish and clear hints of dried apricot.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from a rigorous selection in the mountain vineyards of Trentino, in the heart of the Trento territory. The altitude and the Alpine climate allow the Chardonnay to preserve its freshness and sapidity. This marked territorial imprint gives the sip a vibrant mineral tension, an indispensable element to support the structure and profound complexity constantly sought by Ferrari.

How it is produced

The process begins with the manual harvesting of bunches chosen for their suitability for long ageing. After fermentation in steel tanks, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, resting for at least eight years on the lees. This prolonged refinement defines a harmonious Brut profile, ensuring a perfect fusion between acidic freshness and volume. Thanks to its complexity, the sparkling wine pairs magnificently with seafood cuisine, enhancing dishes based on shellfish.

History and interesting facts

The Ferrari Perlé Bianco Riserva embodies the bold vision of founder Giulio Ferrari: to create an authentic icon of Trentodoc, capable of rivalling the best Champagnes in terms of structure and territorial depth. Over the years, this label has become the emblem of the Perlé line, distinguishing itself for its extraordinary aptitude for long ageing. Its excellence is confirmed by the most prestigious awards from wine critics, including the Five Grapes from Bibenda, 94 points from Decanter, and the Four Vines in the Vitae AIS guide.

The legend of Ferrari began with a man, Giulio Ferrari, and his dream of creating a wine in Italy inspired by the finest French Champagne.

A skilled and painstaking enologist who had studied at the prestigious School of Viticulture in Montpellier, Giulio created Ferrari in 1902, producing very few, extremely select bottles at a prohibitive price, but which were still never bought to satisfy the demand of wine lovers. In 1952 Bruno Lunelli, the owner of Trento’s best-known wine bar took over Ferrari from Giulio, who continued to work in the winery until his death. Then, thanks to meticulous labour in the winery and his innate entrepreneurial verve, Bruno Lunelli increased production until it reached a hundred thousand bottles a year. In the decades that followed, Bruno Lunelli’s sons, Gino, Franco and Mauro, brought the company, which produces exclusively Classic Method sparkling wines, to the apex of quality and fame - in other words, to the peak of excellence.

Today, as was the case in the past, the Lunelli family continues to be the lifeblood of the Ferrari brand. The third generation runs the company with respect for the past and clear ideas for the future.
Their goal is to preserve the prestige of the leading producer of the Classic Method sparkling wines in Italy and one of the top ten in the world. Whilst proudly maintaining the structure of a family-owned company, the Lunelli have conquered the market through business strategies that have made Ferrari into much more than just a successful brand. The company is a real international legend, producing the best of "Made in Italy".
