Description
What kind of wine it is
Franciacorta Riserva 33 Pas Dosé is a sparkling wine produced using the Traditional Method, created to enhance the finest expressions of Chardonnay. This non-dosed cuvée presents a bright golden yellow hue, crossed by a fine and continuous perlage. The aromatic profile reveals dense scents of candied fruit and medlar, accompanied by delicate hints of pistachio and flowers. On the palate, it offers a tasting experience of great precision and elegance, dominated by a lively citrus thread intertwined with a deep savoury and mineral imprint. The finish is dry, long, and of absolute gustatory coherence.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine originates in the heart of Franciacorta, in the Brescia area of Adro. The grapes come from around forty vineyards spread across eight municipalities in the region, situated at an altitude of two hundred and fifty metres above sea level. The vines are trained using the Guyot system on soils with a marked clay and limestone composition. It is precisely this geological matrix that gives the wine its pronounced savouriness, ensuring that mineral finish which defines its rigorous style.
How it is produced
Harvesting is carried out by hand in mid-August to allow for careful selection of the bunches. The subsequent gentle pressing of whole bunches allows for the extraction of only the free-run must, the sole fraction destined for the creation of this cuvée. The first alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine takes shape through a refined blend of the best base wines from the cellar. The secondary fermentation in the bottle, as required by the Traditional Method, concludes with a slow ageing on the lees lasting eighty-four months. The absence of dosage at disgorgement further enhances its stylistic and expressive rigour.
History and Curiosities
Produced in Adro, the Franciacorta Riserva 33 Pas Dosé is a true masterpiece from the Ferghettina winery. This exclusive sparkling wine, produced in only 6,000 bottles, is born from a fascinating blend of blends that perfectly harmonises the Satèn, Millesimato and Extra Brut bases. Made exclusively from the free-run juice of Chardonnay grapes grown on clay-limestone soils, it offers a vibrant minerality on the palate. The long ageing of 84 months on the lees gives an elegant and complex sip, enhancing the rigorous character of its zero dosage.

He worked there for more than 20 years, mastering the viticulture of Franciacorta and the most modern winemaking techniques. In 1991, he and his wife Andreina took over the management of four hectares of land and a real estate located in Erbusco, where they soon created a wine cellar. After the harvest of 1991, Roberto presented his first two wines: a Terre di Franciacorta red wine and a white one.
Ferghettina was born, taking down the name of the area where the winery was built. The following year Roberto produced his first Franciacorta, a brut that’s still the strongest suit of the winery. Since then, Ferghettina has expanded significantly. As Roberto was held in high esteem in Franciacorta, he rented many plots of land to plant vines according to high-quality standards of viticulture.
Nowadays, we run 200 hectars of vineyards located in 11 municipalities of Franciacorta, conforming to organic farming principles, in order to exploit the resources of the different soils as fully as possible, to enhance the quality of our wines. Ferghettina is a family matter: everything is managed by Roberto and Andreina, with the help of their children Laura and Matteo, both graduated in oenology, and of a large number of employees and partners.
