Description
What kind of wine it is
The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Arsicci Fattoria Nanni is an organic white wine created from a blend of Verdicchio and Trebbiano. On the nose, it offers intriguing aromas of wild plum, green apple and almond. On the palate, it reveals a marked freshness, enriched by hints of mint and burnet, leading to a mineral and balsamic finish. It is ideal for accompanying seafood dishes, shellfish and sushi.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from Arsicci, in the Marche region, from almost fifty-year-old vines grown at an altitude of 450 metres. The roots delve into a mainly calcareous soil, in a Mediterranean microclimate ideal for viticulture. These natural conditions impart excellent balance to the grapes, ensuring the savoury tension characteristic of this area in every sip.
How it is produced
The whole bunches are harvested by hand-picking and cooled overnight in a cold room. The subsequent pressing is carried out without destemming and in total absence of oxygen to protect the integrity of the aromas. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, ageing on fine lees ensures a complex sensory profile, best preserving the original fragrance of the fruit.
History and Curiosities
The roots of this fine organic Verdicchio date back to 1967, the year when Gianni Piersigilli, known as Nanni, planted the first vines in Arsicci. Today, oenologist Roberto Cantori honours this legacy by cultivating old vineyards that are fifty years old in the Marche landscape. The 2024 vintage expresses the authenticity of an exceptional limestone soil, resulting in a wine of great value, awarded the Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso. A sustainable production that tells the story of a historic district through artisanal dedication and respect for nature.

"Where I come from there is a mountain that protects the valley and the castles around it. It’s nice to have a little peak in the distance, sharply peaked on one side, a crooked turtle dome, and acting as your beacon when you don’t have the sea. It’s called Monte San Vicino and it also looks beautiful over a large vineyard, and guards it, in the Apiro countryside. From this vineyard was born the wine of the young Fattoria Nannì, all painted by Nina, a green balcony to a lighthouse that is shaped like a rock, and that has been telling us since we were little what the weather will be, what colour the sky will be, all that you can see and not see, and which way you will find the moon."
