Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Egali’t Brut is created from a blend of Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, crafted strictly using the Traditional Method. In the glass, it displays a golden yellow colour, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet evokes notes of citrus, hawthorn and linden, enriched by a delicate hint of honey. On the palate, it is dry, fresh and savoury, with a pleasant mentholated finish. Its vertical structure, preserved by the absence of malolactic fermentation, makes it perfect to pair with fish dishes, shellfish and cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine is produced in France, in the heart of the Marne Valley, from vineyards located near Baslieux-sous-Châtillon. The vines of the Eric Taillet winery grow on clay-limestone soils, an ideal terrain to impart savouriness and vibrancy to the wine. This specific terroir particularly enhances Pinot Meunier, the symbolic grape variety of the area. The constant care dedicated to these plots allows for a pure and deeply territorial expression of Champagne.
How it is produced
Production begins with the use of a traditional wooden press, from which first-press must is obtained for Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, and second-press for Pinot Noir. The musts are clarified naturally, avoiding malolactic fermentation to maintain the varietal freshness. After bottling, the cuvée undergoes lees ageing for at least 24 months. A Brut dosage of 6 grams per litre completes the profile, ensuring a dry, clean and elegantly balanced sip.
