Description

What kind of wine it is

Natura Pinot Noir by Emiliana is an organic red wine that stands out for its violet-red colour. On the nose, it offers an aromatic bouquet characterised by forest fruits, delicate hints of vanilla and floral notes. On the palate, it delivers a fruity sip with a velvety texture, supported by a medium structure that fades into an intense finish. Thanks to its pleasant softness, this Pinot Noir pairs excellently with sushi, white meats, mature cheeses and fish dishes accompanied by creamy sauces, expressing itself best at a serving temperature between 14 and 16°C.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the Rapel Valley, a renowned wine-growing region in Chile. The area is characterised by a humid Mediterranean climate, with annual rainfall ensuring the correct water supply for the vines. The vineyards grow on loam-clay soils, known for their typical reddish colouration. The balance between these soil and climate conditions allows for optimal ripening of the grapes, giving the wine clear aromas and a significant ageing potential, estimated between five and ten years.

How it is produced

The Emiliana winery cultivates its vineyards following the principles of organic and biodynamic viticulture. This environmentally friendly approach makes the wine suitable even for those following a vegan diet. The production process includes six months of ageing, during which part of the wine matures in French oak barrels. This period in wood enriches the complexity of the flavour profile, integrating light sweet notes without overpowering the varietal freshness, resulting in a final product that faithfully reflects the identity of the region.

History and Curiosities

The Emiliana Natura Pinot Noir 2023 embodies the pioneering vision of Rafael and José Guilisasti who, since 1998, have transformed their estate into a true emblem of organic and biodynamic viticulture in Chile. Produced on the 240 hectares of the Rapel Valley, this elegant vegan red wine reflects a deep respect for the ecosystem. The excellence of this production, awarded 90 points by James Suckling, is masterfully enhanced by a brief period in French oak, which delivers an unforgettable and sustainable sip.

At the end of the 1990s, Rafael and José Guilisasti perceived that the market was beginning to change, and global consumers were beginning to consciously choose the products they consumed, not just in terms of health, but also for its environmental and social effects.

Together with visionary winemaker Álvaro Espinoza, they began converting a conventional Chilean winery into a 100% organic and biodynamic winery, with the firm objective of creating wines of the highest quality while respecting people and the environment. After more than 2 decades, what began as a dream is today a full portfolio of products, with both domestic and International recognition, that meet the needs of today’s consumer.
