Description
What kind of wine is it
Elena Walch Alto Adige Gewürztraminer is a still white wine made from Gewürztraminer grapes grown in the Alto Adige region. To the eye, it displays a bright yellow colour with golden highlights. The olfactory profile offers an intensely aromatic bouquet, characterised by elegant notes of rose petals interwoven with spicy hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. On the palate, it reveals remarkable finesse and lively freshness, finishing with an intense and persistent finale of great naturalness and elegance.
Where does it come from
The vineyards are located in Termeno, on the Wine Road, an area renowned for the cultivation of Gewürztraminer. The vines benefit from warm, sunny days, refreshed at dusk by cool mountain breezes. This temperature variation encourages the development of the grapes' pronounced aromatic expressiveness. The light, calcareous soils, enriched in depth by sandy and porphyritic veins, give the wine a characteristic tension and perfect clarity on the palate.
How is it produced
Production begins with a rigorous manual harvest of the grape bunches. In the winery, a six-hour skin maceration is carried out, a crucial step for optimal aroma extraction. After gentle pressing and static clarification of the must, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. Ageing on the lees in stainless steel tanks ensures a clean and defined profile. Served at a temperature of 12-14 °C, this wine is best enjoyed with spicy dishes, flavourful cheeses and shellfish-based recipes.
