Description

What kind of wine is it

Egon Muller Riesling Scharzhof is a still white wine that embodies the essence of German viticulture. Made entirely from Riesling grapes, it offers a fresh and fruity bouquet, characterised by clear notes of lemon, green apple and a delicate hint of sage. Visually, it displays a straw yellow colour with subtle greenish reflections. On the palate, it is taut, harmonious and vibrant, finishing with a creamy and pleasantly sweet aftertaste that completes its elegance.

Where does it come from

This wine originates from the renowned Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region, in the municipality of Wiltingen, along the banks of the Saar river. The Egon Muller winery manages its vineyards according to the principles of organic farming and sustainable practices. The wine develops a well-defined aromatic profile and an exceptional ageing potential, allowing it to evolve beautifully in the cellar for over a decade.

How is it produced

The winemaking process involves spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel, triggered exclusively by indigenous yeasts to respect the integrity of the raw material and allow its natural progression. This production choice aims to enhance the lively acidity and purity of the grape variety, resulting in a white wine of great stylistic precision. It is ideal to enjoy with lean fish dishes, sushi or to balance the structure of soft cheeses.

History and Curiosities

The Riesling Scharzhof by Egon Müller has its roots in the historic cellar founded in 1797 in Wiltingen.
