Description

What kind of wine it is

CiFRA is a still red wine made from Cabernet Franc grapes, combining a medium body with a surprisingly smooth and juicy texture. On the palate, its pronounced energy merges with a lively acidity, offering a persistent finish characterised by notes of sweet cherry and small dark fruits. The bouquet opens with hints of strawberry liqueur, touches of leather and exotic floral nuances, enriched by notes of moss and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, a fine peppery component emerges, giving the wine further drive and elegance.

Where it comes from

The vines take root along the Tuscan Coast, between the rolling hills of Riparbella and Castellina Marittima. The vineyards, arranged like a natural amphitheatre in the heart of the Maremma, benefit from the moderating influence of the sea breezes. The presence of clay soils, alternating with stonier plots, encourages balanced ripening and gives vigour to the fruit. This unique terroir, combined with the coastal climate and proximity to the woods, ensures a marked expressive clarity, defining a dynamic and deeply territorial flavour profile.

How it is produced

The entire agronomic cycle of the Duemani estate follows the principles of biodynamic agriculture, respecting the balance of the ecosystem. After the harvest, the must ferments in concrete vats, a material also chosen for the subsequent ageing period. This choice preserves the original fragrance of the fruit and the vitality of the sip. To maintain the complex aromatic structure, the wine is bottled without filtration or clarification, ensuring an unadulterated and natural drinking experience.

History and Curiosities

The result of a project launched in 2000 by Elena Celli and Luca D’Attoma, this pure Cabernet Franc is born in a striking natural amphitheatre overlooking the Tuscan coast. Cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, it expresses the authentic soul of the terroir. Ageing in concrete vats, without any fining or filtration, preserves its elegance, offering a soft and juicy sip. The prestige of the 2023 vintage is confirmed by major international accolades, including the 93 points awarded by James Suckling.

In 2000, Elena Celli and Luca D’Attoma founded Duemani with a clear vision: to craft exceptional wines in perfect harmony with nature. Their search for the ideal terroir led them to Riparbella and Castellina Marittima, along the stunning Tuscan Coast — a place where the land, sea, and sky come together in a symphony of purity and energy.

Our hillside estate is kissed by sea breezes and surrounded by wild forests, overlooking the shimmering Tyrrhenian Sea. Here, on these sun-drenched slopes, we grow our vines following the principles of biodynamic agriculture — respecting the rhythms of nature to express the true soul of the land in every bottle.
