Description
What kind of wine it is
The Autentici Frappato by Duca di Salaparuta is a red wine with the Denomination of Controlled Origin from Sicily, born from the pure expression of the Frappato grape variety. Its aromatic profile reveals intense floral notes of rose and violet, harmoniously intertwined with clear nuances of wild strawberry and blackberry. Thanks to cryomaceration and maturation in stainless steel, on the palate it stands out for its medium-bodied structure, supported by soft and velvety tannins that offer a pleasant and smooth drink. The sip finishes with a long and persistent aftertaste, making this wine perfect for accompanying white meats and refined fish dishes.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards located in central-southern Sicily, an area that excellently enhances native grape varieties. The microclimate is characterised by mild winters with little rainfall, a dry spring and a hot summer. The nature of the calcareous soils plays a fundamental role, giving the wine remarkable aromatic precision and a pronounced freshness. Duca di Salaparuta works in these territories by enhancing the essence of the island and bringing the most authentic expression of Sicilian viticulture to the glass through constant attention to production quality.
How it is produced
The production process begins with a manual harvest carried out in September, followed by delicate cryomaceration aimed at purely extracting the primary aromas of the grapes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about fifteen days in contact with the skins. Subsequently, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation, which softens its flavour profile, making it more balanced. Maturation involves resting in stainless steel for several months, followed by a period in the bottle to reach full expressive maturity.
