Description
What kind of wine it is
The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Collezione Pruviniano by Domini Veneti is a red wine from Veneto with a Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin, boasting an enveloping and profound profile. This blend of native grapes, including Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, appears in the glass with an intense garnet colour. The bouquet offers elegant notes of cherry in spirit and dried plum, enriched by spicy hints of vanilla and chocolate. On the palate, it reveals a great structure and smoothness, supported by velvety tannins that lead to a pleasantly toasted finish. Produced through slow drying and aged in oak barrels, it is an excellent wine for meditation.
Where it comes from
The roots of this Amarone della Valpolicella Classico lie in the Marano valley, specifically in the Prognol area, historically known as Pruviniano. The vineyards are located at an altitude between 200 and 250 metres, where the sunny south-east and south-west exposure ensures optimal ripening of the grapes. The silty-clay and calcareous soil gives the wine depth and structure. This winemaking vocation translates into a sip that reflects the identity of the Veneto region.
How it is produced
Production begins with the manual selection of the best grape bunches, destined for a slow drying process in drying rooms during the winter months to concentrate sugars, extracts and aromas. After pressing, the must undergoes a long maceration at a controlled temperature, with manual punching down to extract colour and structure. Once malolactic fermentation is complete, maturation continues in oak barrels, where the wine develops a pronounced spicy and tertiary complexity. The process concludes with adequate bottle ageing, ensuring natural stabilisation and the perfect harmonisation of all organoleptic components.
History and Curiosities
The Pruviniano Collection by Domìni Veneti, an outstanding establishment active since 1933, celebrates the grapes of the Marano valley. The 2021 vintage pays elegant tribute to the history of the region, recalling the ancient name of the Prognol area up to 1177. A skilful artisanal approach, with drying on arele and maturation in oak barrels, offers a profound experience with velvety tannins.

The spirit is the same as that of the visionary cooperative founded in 1933 by the seven businessmen from Verona, just as the very same principles guide our work on a daily basis today and inspire every new project: initiative, reciprocity and collaboration.
Generations that work side by side: this is the strength of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar. It is the same strength that has enabled us to stride through history and become the benchmark producer when it comes to Amarone, Ripasso and the technique of Appassimento.
Energy and creativity on the one hand; on the other, the wisdom that comes from the experience of many vintages, leading to a generational renewal that takes place while we work together. Read more
