Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Rosé Fleur de Meunier Extra Brut by Lagille is a rosé produced in France according to the strict principles of the Traditional Method. In the glass, it displays an intense pink colour enriched with coppery highlights, animated by a fine and continuous perlage. On the nose, clear aromas of ripe red fruits emerge, blending into a dry, crisp and distinctly savoury sip. This structural balance makes it ideal to pair with light starters, dishes based on lean fish and selections of cheese. Its intrinsic freshness also ensures an excellent ageing potential estimated between five and ten years.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the Ardre Valley, located on the western side of the Montagne de Reims. It is a terroir considered wild, where Champagne manages to develop a strongly distinctive character. The grapes come from plots managed according to the principles of organic and sustainable agriculture, distributed among the villages of Tréslon, Faverolles-et-Coëmy, Savigny-sur-Ardres and Chaumuzy. In these areas, the vines sink their roots into a unique mosaic of soils composed of clay, sand and a clay-limestone matrix. This geological composition gives the glass a clear savoury imprint and a precise gustatory texture.
How it is produced
Production is based on the processing of Pinot Meunier grapes, transformed following the stages of the Traditional Method. The maturation process involves ageing divided between stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, a choice aimed at preserving aromatic purity while at the same time providing greater structural definition. The Extra Brut dosage keeps the flavour profile dry and linear, directly enhancing the original fruit notes. To best appreciate every aromatic nuance and the liveliness of the sip, it is recommended to serve the wine at an ideal temperature between 6 and 8 °C.
