Description

What kind of wine it is

Champagne Grande Reserve Brut by Dehours & Fils enhances the elegance of the Traditional Method. This harmonious blend, combining Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, boasts a straw yellow colour and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it releases delicate notes of rose, eucalyptus, dried fruit and yeast. On the palate, it is rounded and balanced, offering an intense crescendo of flavour that culminates in a refreshing finish, ideal for pairing with oysters, raw seafood and cheeses.

Where it comes from

Produced in Mareuil-le-Port, in the Marne Valley, this wine fully expresses the character of the renowned Champagne region. Dehours & Fils cultivates its own vineyards with careful attention to a biological and sustainable approach. The area's microclimate and favourable soils ensure pronounced aromatic precision. This meticulous vineyard management translates the complexity of the terroir into a profile of remarkable finesse and an elegant mousse, perfectly reflecting its place of origin.

How it is produced

Vinification follows the Traditional Method and includes complete malolactic fermentation. Maturation on the lees in the bottle lasts from fifteen to twenty-seven months. To provide continuity and greater aromatic depth, the base is skilfully enriched with a perpetual reserve. Maturing entirely on the lees, the wine retains its authenticity and is clarified exclusively through natural decantation, avoiding any additional filtration or fining.

History and Curiosities

Originating from Mareuil-le-Port, this Champagne showcases the Pinot Meunier of the Marne Valley, blending it with a rare perpetual reserve started in 1998. The artisanal vinification involves ageing on the lees for between 15 and 27 months and only natural decantation, with no filtration whatsoever. This meticulous care results in a rounded and balanced sip, widely praised by international critics. A triumph of delicate aromas envelops the palate, culminating in a refreshing finish of rare intensity that elegantly invites another taste.
