Description
What kind of wine it is
Domaine de la Vougeraie Bourgogne Pinot Noir Terres de Famille is an organic red wine that embodies the elegance of Burgundy. Produced by Domaine de la Vougeraie from Pinot Noir grapes, it has a pale red colour and a bouquet of intense fruity notes such as cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant. On the palate it is smooth, with a full sip and a defined structure that finishes with a spicy note on the finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from estate-owned vineyards located between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, areas renowned for their winemaking tradition in Burgundy. The vines grow on deep clay soils, free from limestone, ideal for a rich and enveloping flavour profile. Domaine de la Vougeraie manages the land using organic farming, an approach that purely enhances the expression of the French terroir.
How it is produced
The winemaking process respects the delicacy of the grapes, with a ten-month maturation in oak barrels, some of which are new. This technique enriches the wine's structure, integrating spicy notes without overpowering the fruit. At the table, it is ideal for pairing with roast or stewed meats, game and cheeses. To fully appreciate its aromatic range, it is recommended to decant for an hour and serve between fourteen and sixteen degrees Celsius.
History and Curiosities
The Domaine de la Vougeraie of Premeaux-Prissey was established in 1999 by a family who planted their first vines in 1964. This fine organic Pinot Noir pays homage to the deep Burgundian tradition, celebrating a historic grape variety documented as early as 1375. Grown in the deep clay soils between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, the grape expresses extraordinary intensity. The limited production of this cuvée is a testament to the artisanal care of a refined label, capable of conveying an authentic family legacy in the glass.
