Description
What kind of wine it is
Domaine A.F. Gros Hautes Cotes de Nuits Rouge is a still red wine that precisely expresses the typical character of Pinot Noir. In the glass, it displays a ruby red hue, introducing an aromatic bouquet defined by intense notes of red fruits. On the palate, it is fresh, smooth and inviting, offering a sip of great gustatory coherence. The absence of systematic filtration helps to preserve the aromatic profile and the natural consistency of the substance, ensuring a tasting experience with an authentic character.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the renowned Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, an area of great prestige within the famous Burgundy region. Since 1988, the Domaine A.F. Gros estate has been managed by Anne Gros, who trained in viticulture and oenology in Beaune and Dijon. Under her leadership, the estate has undergone significant agricultural expansion, growing from three to six and a half hectares of vineyards, and has acquired a new cellar facility. These elements allow the estate to fully reflect its agronomic sensitivity, ensuring a stylistic continuity that respects the vocation of these French soils.
How it is produced
The vinification of this red aims to preserve the natural vitality of the fruit. The decision not to systematically filter the wine may lead to the formation of slight sediments, which are evidence of careful and minimally invasive processing. To best appreciate its aromatic nuances, it is recommended to decant for one hour and serve at a temperature between 14 and 16°C. At the table, it pairs harmoniously with red meat dishes, pork-based preparations, game and cheese boards. This wine boasts considerable ageing potential, able to evolve favourably in the cellar for a period of between 10 and 15 years.
History and Curiosities

At 25 years old, Anne saw the family domaine grow from 3 to 6.5 ha. Recently, she invested in a new cellar. She is a winegrower suspicious of certitude and fastidious about maintaining her freedom.
As a female winegrower, Anne knew how to prove herself and convince all who doubted her ability to manage a domaine. She showed that she had not only the shoulders but the head to make her family heritage one of the greatest domaines of Burgundy.
In 1984 she had to stop studying Arts to study vines’culture and oenology in Beaune and Dijon. Now her passion for vine and wine as well as her talent, sensitivity and professionalism position her as a winemaker amateurs can rely on.
A mother of 3 children, Anne spends all her time working at the Domaine and taking care of her family. Read more
