Description
What kind of wine it is
Dom Pérignon Rosé Brut Champagne is a wine with a refined profile, created from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which in the glass displays an intense pink hue with coral highlights, enhanced by an extremely fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet releases aromas of wild berries and violet, accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla and pink pepper. On the palate, it reveals a silky and dry texture, where notes of black cherry, dried fig and nutmeg converge. Produced according to the Traditional Method, it guarantees a long and persistent finish, ideal for pairing with shellfish, sushi, fresh fish, cured meats and cheeses.
Where it comes from
The origins of this wine trace back to the lands of Épernay, the nerve centre of the Champagne region. Dom Pérignon’s identity is rooted in the territory, thanks to the exclusive use of grapes grown within its own Grand Cru vineyards. The optimal soil and climate conditions allow the vines to reach perfect ripeness.
How it is produced
The production process meticulously follows the stages of the Traditional Method. After the blend is created, the Champagne undergoes a second fermentation and matures for seven years on the lees in the cellar. This process imparts remarkable structural depth and great aromatic richness. Following disgorgement, the wine rests for a further six months, a crucial period to integrate all the aromatic nuances and ensure perfect balance on the palate.
History and Curiosities
It is named after the renowned Benedictine monk Dom Pérignon, who is credited with the creation of champagne. After his death, the monastery and vineyards came under the ownership of Moët & Chandon, who launched the brand in 1936. Originating from Épernay, this prestigious Champagne is produced exclusively in exceptional years, using grapes classified as Grand Cru, sourced 100% from the estate's own vineyards.
