Description
What kind of wine it is
Damilano Barolo Cerequio is a red wine from Piedmont made from Nebbiolo grapes, an authentic expression of Barolo. In the glass, it reveals a garnet red colour that develops orange hues over time. The aromatic profile weaves together floral notes of violet and hints of cherry, accompanied by balsamic nuances, vanilla and liquorice. On the palate, it is intense and persistent, capable of evolving towards complex aromas of tobacco and leather thanks to its remarkable ageing potential. Each sip combines structure and definition, delivering a fruity and floral profile of great clarity.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the municipality of La Morra, within the renowned amphitheatre of the Cerequio subzone. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of around three hundred and twenty metres and benefit from a favourable south and south-east exposure, naturally sheltered from cold winds. The composition of the calcareous soils, rich in silt, clay and sand, gives great structure and character to the grapes cultivated by Damilano. This unique hillside terroir ensures the production of a wine with deep roots, capable of expressing the true winegrowing vocation of the area.
How it is produced
The production process begins with the harvesting of Nebbiolo grapes, grown according to precise organic and sustainable practices. In the winery, temperature-controlled fermentation lasts for twenty days, allowing optimal extraction of aromas and phenolic components. This careful process enhances the natural complexity of the fruit, resulting in a wine with marked longevity. To fully appreciate the aromatic texture and ensure proper oxygenation, it is recommended to decant for one hour before serving. The final result is a deep and well-defined glass, true to the characteristics of the grape variety.
