Description
What kind of wine it is
Damijan Podversic Collio Friuliano Bianco Nekaj is a macerated wine of great character, a pure expression of the Friulano grape variety. In the glass, it displays a bright straw yellow hue, enhanced by elegant golden reflections. The aromatic bouquet is complex, defined by intense citrus notes, toasted hazelnuts and quince, which blend harmoniously with fresh herbal nuances. On the palate, it is deep and enveloping, achieving an ideal balance between the softness of the sip and a pronounced savouriness. This solid and refined structure makes it an excellent companion for structured dishes such as seafood risottos, stewed cuttlefish, white meats and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the hills of Collio Goriziano, in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The vineyards, located in the renowned Collio area, are cultivated by Damijan Podversic following strict organic principles. The winery values its deep connection with the natural environment to produce a wine with an authentic and strongly territorial flavour. Respect for the ecosystem and the rhythms of nature is reflected in every agronomic choice: the bunches are carefully selected and hand-picked only when perfectly ripe on the vine, ensuring intact fruit with great aromatic richness.
How it is produced
In the winery, the process begins with a long skin maceration of two or three months in truncated conical oak vats, a fundamental step in defining the structural complexity of the must. Fermentation starts spontaneously thanks to the exclusive action of indigenous yeasts. Subsequently, maturation continues for between thirteen and twenty-four months in large oak barrels. The decision to bottle without any filtration preserves the integrity of the organoleptic characteristics, giving the wine remarkable ageing potential that allows its fascinating nuances to be appreciated over time.
