Description
What kind of wine is it
The Christian Bergeret Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Pinot Noir, crafted by Christian Bergeret, expresses the pure character of Pinot Noir. In the glass, it displays a clear ruby red colour. The bouquet is clean, with aromas of red fruits and subtle hints of liquorice. On the palate, it offers a lively and refined sip, a testament to the pronounced elegance of this variety. Its solid structure ensures excellent evolution in the bottle, allowing for optimal ageing over ten to fifteen years.
Where does it come from
This wine originates in Burgundy, in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune area. The estate cultivates fourteen hectares of vineyards spread across Beaune, Pommard, Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, and Nolay. The grapes come from mature vines aged twenty-five to thirty years, with historic plots replanted by the founder himself. The mark of this renowned terroir ensures even development of the bunches, imparting to the wine a distinctive gustatory dynamism strongly focused on the freshness of the fruit.
How is it produced
The process follows a classic vinification to enhance the identity of Pinot Noir. The wine undergoes essential maturation in oak barrels for twelve to eighteen months, a crucial stage for refining the structure and harmonising the aromas. Before serving at sixteen to eighteen degrees, a one-hour decanting is recommended to encourage oxygenation. At the table, it pairs beautifully with pork and cheeses, forming an excellent match with classic game dishes and the renowned Burgundian meat pie.
