Description
What kind of wine is it
Le Lucciole is an organic red wine of great character, produced in Emilia-Romagna by Chiara Condello. A true expression of the Romagna Sangiovese Predappio Riserva region, this label was created to showcase the soul of the local hills through the exclusive use of Sangiovese grapes. In the glass, it reveals an intense and structured profile, ideal for elegantly accompanying hearty, land-based dishes. It pairs perfectly with red meats, flavourful pork-based preparations, and generous platters of mature cheeses, thanks to its deep and persistent palate.
Where does it come from
The vineyards stretch across the hills of Predappio, at an altitude between one hundred and fifty and three hundred metres. The vines, sheltered by the proximity of a dense forest, are trained using the spur-pruned cordon method on a poor calcareous-clay soil, characterised by ancient Pliocene marine sandstones known as Spungone. This particular geological composition defines the profound identity of the area, giving the grapes a clear, mineral, and authentic territorial signature.
How is it produced
The grape bunches are harvested strictly by hand-picking and taken for vinification in wooden vats, where spontaneous fermentation is carried out by indigenous yeasts. The extraction process involves a prolonged maceration on the skins, which can last from twenty-five to forty-five days, necessary to define the wine’s dense structural weave. Finally, maturation takes place in Slavonian oak barrels to promote perfect evolutionary balance. It is recommended to decant for an hour before serving to best appreciate its broad aromatic complexity.

A Sangiovese that returns exactly my ideas of winemaking. I have chosen a little piece of land close to a forest, in the heart of the appellation Predappio, in between 150 and 300 meters above sea level. Here the vines are deeply rooted in a poor calcareous-clay soil which is rich in pliocenic sandstones called Spungone. Here 3 million years ago there was a sea, and from here I started working to produce a wine that is the expression of this uniqueness. Read more
