Description
What kind of wine it is
Chateau de Fieuzal Pessac Leognan Grand Cru Rouge is a still red wine with a deep aromatic profile. The result of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it displays an intense ruby red colour, which will develop garnet hues over time. On the nose, it reveals clear notes of plum, fig and blackcurrant, followed by complex hints of tobacco, cedar and undergrowth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, elegant and rich, supported by fine and elegant tannins that lead to a long and vibrant finish. At the table, it pairs beautifully with game dishes, roast meats and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine is produced in the heart of Bordeaux, in the renowned Pessac-Léognan area. The Chateau de Fieuzal estate is situated in a privileged position near the Gironde estuary, an area characterised by a temperate climate and soils highly suited to viticulture. The unique conditions of this region favour the optimal development of the grapes. The influence of the local microclimate ensures balanced phenolic ripening, resulting in an expression that combines fruit intensity with a marked gustatory precision, typical of this historic area.
How it is produced
The production process aims to enhance the solid structure and the spicy and smoky notes, well integrated with the woody hints derived from ageing in barrels. To fully appreciate the sensory complexity and encourage the evolution of the bouquet, it is recommended to decant for one hour at a serving temperature between 16 and 18°C. With significant ageing potential, estimated between eight and twenty years, the wine is suitable for long-term cellaring. For optimal storage, it is advisable to keep it away from light, with moderate humidity and a stable temperature between 12 and 16°C.
