Description

What kind of wine it is

Château Angélus is an outstanding still red wine, classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé A of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. In the glass, it displays a deep and intense ruby red colour. The bouquet reveals elegant aromas of ripe red fruit, delicate floral notes and subtle spicy hints. On the palate, this blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot stands out for its balanced entry and a complex progression that culminates in a persistent finish. Thanks to its significant structure, it boasts a solid ageing potential, capable of evolving gracefully for several decades.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the Right Bank of Bordeaux, in the heart of the prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru area. The estate is located in the eponymous commune, in the Gironde department, where Château Angélus manages a vineyard of over twenty-three hectares. The plots are monitored with utmost care to achieve ideal grape ripeness. The strictly selected production reflects a targeted agronomic management, able to best express the pedoclimatic characteristics and the identity of the terroir.

How it is produced

The production process begins with an autumn harvest carried out in October, divided into several stages to follow the natural ripening rhythms of each plot. To fully appreciate its balance and complexity, it is recommended to decant for one hour before serving, at a temperature between sixteen and eighteen degrees. Its aristocratic texture makes it ideal for structured pairings, harmoniously accompanying dishes based on beef, pork and mature cheeses.
