Description
What kind of wine it is
Charles Heidsieck Champagne Brut Réserve is a wine produced using the Traditional Method, elegantly blending Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Made by Charles Heidsieck, it displays a complex and structured character, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals deep aromas of freshly baked brioche and toasted notes, harmoniously interwoven with hints of tropical fruit and dried fruit. On the palate, it offers a finely creamy mousse, finishing with a long aftertaste characterised by elegant praline and vanilla nuances.
Where it comes from
The grapes are sourced from over sixty prestigious crus spread across the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne. This exceptional terroir is essential for giving the Champagne its clear precision. Ageing takes place in the historic underground chalk cellars of Reims, which provide a stable environment ideal for slow and protected maturation. In the glass, the Champagne shows an intense golden yellow colour, anticipating a savoury and pleasantly mineral sip.
How it is produced
The production process involves manual harvesting and vinification in stainless steel tanks. The blend includes a significant selection of reserve wines, aged for up to ten years to ensure deep stylistic continuity in the tasting. The prise de mousse follows the Traditional Method, with a long ageing on the lees of at least 36 months, developing fine bubbles and pronounced structural creaminess. The extended rest in the cellars and the careful Brut dosage complete the profile of this wine, resulting in a broad, harmonious and persistent finish.
