Description
What kind of wine it is
Cascina Fontana Rosso is a still Piedmontese wine with an essential and straightforward profile, a faithful expression of the Langhe region. The processing of Red Grapes allows for the selection of the best raw material to create a glass of good structure, characterised by a dry and clean sip. On the palate, it offers great consistency of flavour, favouring the precision of the fruit. At the table, its energy perfectly enhances game-based dishes, pork roasts, flavourful meats and rich platters of mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The vineyards are located in Piedmont, nestled on the historic hills of Barolo, south of Alba. Here, Cascina Fontana has operated for six generations on six hectares of land, applying strict organic and sustainable practices. The vines are trained using the Guyot system. The land is dominated by sandy soils crossed by deep veins of calcareous marl, a geological composition that directly influences the clarity and final intensity of the sip.
How it is produced
The vinification enhances the identity of the fruit through a spontaneous fermentation triggered by indigenous yeasts in fibreglass tanks. The process continues with fifteen days of maceration on the skins, also using a portion of the stalks to increase the definition of the texture. Subsequently, the wine matures in the same fibreglass containers for seven months, ensuring the utmost respect for the characteristics of the Red Grapes. A final rest in the bottle for four months completes the production cycle.

Here, in our beautiful land dedicated to the production of wine, my family have grown grapes and produced wines for at least six generations.
Today I continue to grow the traditional grapes of Le Langhe, dolcetto, barbera and nebbiolo, to produce a range of classic and prestigious wines that are the purest expression of the land from which they are born, Le Langhe. Read more
